HAZEL | a piedmont property

This gem is like a mini castle transported from the French countryside!

Shutters and gracious curves on the exterior, light filled rooms with character and old world ambiance on the inside.  Incredible original hand carved doors, archways and a gorgeous carved wood staircase like no other.

The owner had made several additions to the property with a huge living room, upper master suite and lower family room.  My challenge here was to create the same charm and ambiance to the additions as already existed in the original rooms.  The former formal living room which is now the library with original fireplace and stunning ceiling and windows became my inspiration.  Through the selection of wall paint colors, floor refinishing to a dark hue and warm RH linen furnishings the living room began to posses the original charm.  I fussed over each space until the home had the feeling of continuity so that each and every area felt like part of the original.  Of course, the entire home exterior needed to be brought up to date so I painted it a warm light gray with fresh white trim to create a spectacular feel inside and out.  A true show piece!
