Rock music blaring from surround speakers, loud conversation and cocktail glasses clanking … the vibe of this Rock Star mansion is unmistakably about entertainment on a grand scale. For me, it was all about the perfect setting for an all out party with dozens of people milling around, the focal point being the exquisite swimming pool.
I put together lots of furniture groupings so people could sit down and chat for a bit. Of course, multiple martini bar set-ups were also a must, along with Godiva chocolates and chocolate cake for dessert. Sleek Italian cream leather sofas and club chairs to which I added big fluffy-soft cream alpaca throw pillows were essential for opening up the rooms as was large bright white and silver framed art accenting the striking white walls.
Glass pedestals with hand blown glass vases filled with green cymbidium orchids reflected off the multi self-framed glass picture windows. A terrace running the length of the home was painted hot pink. I used RH wicker seating to create a rustic texture and the perfect place from which to watch the action or gaze at the pool.
The upper level, or bedroom level, was so intimate with white wall-to-wall carpet against white walls. The master bath was a treat to work with — Carrara marble counters with Nickel finish fixtures. The master bedroom was begging for Chanel accents — Chanel No 5 perfume bottles and picture books fit for a queen. But my favorite parts of the house were the upstairs sitting room with fireplace and the guest or “pool” cottage in back! Needless to say, this home was one of my all-time favorites to decorate and took every ounce of energy I had to complete! Truly a labor of love. See the full gallery on my website.
